Lava’s Xolo has launched two new smartphones in Omega series, dubbed as Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5, priced at Rs. 8,999 (about 145 USD) and Rs. 9,999 (about US $161 ) respectively.
The latest phone, Xolo Omega 5.0 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS touchscreen display and comes powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592M processor, alongside Mali 450 GPU, running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS, while HIVE UI on the top. The firm has also promised Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for all HIVE UI devices.
The Omega 5.0 houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony EXMOR R sensor, 1080p video recording and also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot (up to 32GB). This time Xolo has launched the smartphone on Twitter to engage with fans across India, but till now it is not listed in the company official website of India.
The Xolo Omega 5.0 supports Dual SIM (WCDMA+GSM) with dual standby functionality and supports Yamaha amplifier + DTS. Connectivity options included in the handset are 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Under the dimensions of 144 x 72 x 10.5mm, the phone is backed by a 2100mAh battery.
