Xiaomi Redmi 2 gets 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM for Chinese New Year

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 was the first smartphone that was launched by the company in 2015. It has been already sold out with just 1GB of RAM.

Now, on the event of New Year in China, Xiaomi has increased the RAM capacity up to 2GB and ROM capacity up to 16GB and will go again for fresh sale. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 price will be at 128 USD or RM460 and the release date will be on Xiaomi Spring Festival from 13th February to Feb 25th.

Apart from its internal storage and RAM, rest of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 specs will remain unchanged. It features a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen screen and powered by a 64-Bit Snapdragon 410 processor (1.2Ghz quad-core). It houses an 8MP primary shooter and also packs a 2MP front camera.

Redmi 2 is backed by a 2200mAH battery and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with MIUI V6 on the top. It measures 134 x 67.2 x 9.4 mm (5.28 x 2.65 x 0.37 in) and weight is 133 g (4.69 oz).
